Score the best waves Morocco has to offer. All day. Every Day.

Surf Guiding is one of our most popular surf packages. It provides you with a local Surf Guide that will take you to the best waves for your surfing ability and is available at our Amouage and Taghazout Villa locations.

This package is only available for intermediate and experienced surfers (levels 4 to 6).

Expert guiding to the best waves

As the most established surf travel operator in Morocco, we’re well set up to host every level of surfer from beginners to pros.

Whether you’re here on holiday and want to surf unknown spots or shoot with a film crew, we’re able to accommodate your needs. Our local guides and team of hospitality professionals will ensure your trip goes smoothly so you can concentrate on scoring perfect waves.

Our Guides have invaluable knowledge of the Moroccan coastline and are proper locals – they know exactly what breaks are working and when. To get around, we have a fleet of vans and 4×4′ s equipped with FCS auto accessories, and medical kits.

We are the only company in Morocco to operate 6-level groups. This maximises your time in the water surfing the waves you want to surf for your own ability. You will always get the best possible waves on offer and never have to surf waves too big or too small, too slow or too fast, or be sat watching or wondering if it’s better at another spot.

A typical day of Surf guiding

When it comes to the surf, every day is different. Swell, wind, and tide all play their part in determining the best locations and times for your session.  So that you always score the optimum conditions, we maintain a flexible schedule, but here is what your typical day of surf guiding might look like.

07.30 – Hearty and healthy breakfast (or later if surfing at dawn before breakfast).
08.45 – Discuss the surf conditions and options for the day.
09.00 –
Explore the Moroccan coastline looking for epic uncrowded surf.
12.30 –
Picnic at the beach.
13.30 –
Another surf or two.
17.30 –
Sunset Yoga (optional).
19.30 –
Nibbles and dinner.

If you want to stop surfing at midday, do another activity, surf early, relax at the accommodation, and then get a sunset surf session, or any other variable, then we’ll happily arrange that for you.

Surf Levels Explained

In and around Taghazout we have a multi aspect coastline, which provides a range of different surf spots that work for any given tide or swell – we have waves for all surfing abilities.

To ensure you get to surf waves suited to your ability we implement a surf levels system. This helps us pair you with a surf group seeking the same type of waves. We’re able to cater from pro surfers to complete beginners.

Our team of professional surf coaches and system of levels sets us apart from other surf camps in Morocco.

FAQs

Your commonly asked questions answered.

Which locations can I join a surf Guiding program at?

Surf Guiding Programs are only available at our Taghazout beach front locations, Amouage and Taghazout Villa.

Whether you are at Amouage or Taghazout Villa you will get the same surfing experience, the only difference being the type of accommodation you’re looking for. Amouage offers a more boutique hotel vibe, while Taghazout Villa is our more budget friendly laid back beach vibe villa. Regardless of which location you choose, you’ll never be more than a few steps from the water and will get to surf some of Morocco’s best waves.

Are Surf lessons and equipment included?

Surfboards (standard or premium) and wetsuits are not included in this package, as some guests like to bring their own so we have made it an optional extra.

Surf lessons are not included in the surf guiding package. If you would like lessons, please see our Surf Coaching package for more info (also, equipment hire is included in this package!).

Can I go surfing later / Do a half day?

We will always try to adapt to what you would like to do. If your group is surfing nearby your guide will come to pick you up. If they are more than 5 mins drive away it might be more difficult for the guide to leave the group for safety reasons. We will try to organize a car and driver in this situation, but it cannot always be guaranteed.

Can I bring and use my own wetsuit and surfboard?

Of course you can.

Are individual coaching sessions available?

Yes, we offer private coaching, it needs to be pre-booked.

What’s the difference between Surf Coaching and Surf Guiding

With our Surf Coaching, you will get a dedicated 2-hour coaching session every day, with hands-on training and guidance from our pro coaches, dedicated to helping you learn to surf or take your skills to the next level. You’ll have video analysis, theory sessions and a structured curriculum to guide your progression.

Surf Guiding on the other hand, is for people with a higher level of surfing ability, looking to score some of Morocco’s best waves, under the expert guidance of some of Morocco’s best surfers but without dedicated daily lessons. You will team up with a small group of other guests at a similar level and with your guide will head off along Morocco’s coast to find the best waves.

Can we go on an excursion in place of a guiding session?

If the surf is bad or all of your group want to go on a local excursion your guide can take you to Agadir. Please note even if only one person in your group wants to surf our priority is to the surfers. In this case, we can arrange excursion but costs will apply. Please see the excursion section on the About page.

What level of surfing do I need to be at for Surf Guiding?

We only allow surfers who are level 4 to level 6 to book Surf Guiding, whether that’s for a day or a full holiday package. Surfers that are level 1, 2, or 3 can only book Surf Coaching. If any enquiries or bookings are made for Surf Guiding by level 1 or 2 surfers, our reservations team has the right to amend the booking.

Can I change my surf level group?

Absolutely! If you wish to move up or down a group or level, simply inform your host the day before who, after confirming with your instructor/guide, will take the necessary action to get you into the appropriate group the next day.
